Attachment Repatterning
a body-based
approach
to deepening connection
The body as a way towards more connection
Long before we could talk, we were already learning things about relationships, whether closeness was safe, whether our needs would be met, whether it was okay to reach out or better to keep quiet. These early lessons, formed in our first relationships, don't just fade with time. They tend to become the blueprint our nervous system uses for connection well into adulthood.
My approach to understanding and healing relational attachments is heavily influenced by DARe, Dynamic Attachment Repatterning, a framework developed by Dr. Diane Poole Heller.
Because we are working with body memory and often learned experiences that are preverbal, and the brain and nervous system learn through experience, this work is about giving the attachment system lived experiences of repair. This work is very experiential and emergent in nature. We don’t need more theory, we need more positive relational experiences.
What to Expect
Attachment sessions are combined with Somatic Experiencing. They are unforced, relational, and experiential. Your body sets the pace. Together we will:
Build capacity to be seen and let care in
Build capacity to hold boundaries
Learn what your yes and no feels like in your body
Learn how to identify your needs and communicate them in a productive way
Give your attachment system reparative experiences
Learn how to regulate your emotions and create self containment
Identify your relational patterns
